by ateograciasadios inthis story goes back 2 years, when my girlfriend and i traveled to my homecountry in south america to spend the summer visiting my family and friends.
although i was still attending the meetings back then, i had already been inactive for a while.
the developments since that visit have been slow but dramatic, and my perception of the people inside the organization has changed greatly.

United Nations churches.
by Ignoranceisbliss init must of been around 1992. i remember all the chatter among local wirnesses was about how the united nations was setting up there own churches around the world.
it seems like there was even a newspaper article to back this up.
it was obvious that this is how governments would finally turn on religion.

Way back in 1970 (lol , back in the covered wagon days) I went along with my SIL on one of her Bible studies in the 25 cent Truth® book. My high school valedictorian SIL told her study this fact "Did you know that scavenger birds are increasing in number?" with great authority in her voice. Because she had been a valedictorian and I had not, lol, I believed everything she said. lol
LoisLane wrote a letter in 1970, to a special pioneer sister who had moved to the need greater area of Catholic Quebec, and shared with her this emphatic "truth" about the "did you know scavenger birds are... ". Yes, I did. At that pre-1975 herald of Armageddon is coming, are you giving YHWH your all? with nothing, of course happening, except WT scaring us so that we would continue to be their unpaid drones and give them our time and money so they could continue to be a publishing house business.
Years later, someone told me they had heard this same story from their Aunt, who had been a school teacher, telling JW's with great authority, what she had heard from Quebec! lol lol lol By this time, LoisLane had learned to keep her mouth shut.

"the Walking Dead" special tract campaign in August!
by stuckinarut2 ini obviously have an active imagination.... i can just see the parallels between "the walking dead" and the masses of witnesses hyped up during the august campaign!.
big crowds of slow walking witnesses with no logical brain function, moving en-mass towards non-witnesses....with only one combined thought "must leave tract".....as they mumble to each other......dragging feet......like zombies..... when one person in the community accepts a tract, they are then the target of every witness who smells their 'interest' and is swamped with more and more visits...big crowds pile on top of them, stripping away at their very individuality and being....until they become one of them!.

LOL... I have often wanted to take English elocution lessons. lol
When I first married, and moved far away without any friends or family near for love and support, my ex and I spent a weekend at a prominent elder's home. He and his wife took their big dictionary out, and sat me down in their living room, to tear my English apart. I was brave and did not cry, but thought what small minded untraveled people these small town people were.

Their big ambition before they became JW was to be high ups in the Salvation Army, now he is the go to man, in a large area, to hear disfellowshipping cases.
I like hearing the different accents.
I love me and I am just fine.
Oh -----> I just remembered. Not only did they insult how I spoke, these ignoramuses called me a Yankee!

An Unexpected 2 Hour Anti-Leads to an Unexpected Return Visit
by truth_b_known ini just spent 30 minutes writing this story and lost it all before i hit submit.
i'll try to be brief.. last night a former co-worker of my wife's called saying he was on his way to the house to drop off a job he would like her to do.
we haven't seen him in over 8 years.

Surreal experience last night.
by objectivetruth inrecently a jw friend that my wife & i knew 3 years ago added me on facebook, after i accepted the request she invited me to a dinner that her and her husband are holding next month.. i imagined that she was unaware of our apostasy, so i declined the invitation on the basis of not wanting to ruin her dinner after the rest of her guests fled at our presence.. i'm never sure how old friends will react when i tell them that i'm no longer a jw.. usually their response is "..... permanent-silence......".
her response went something like this, " we are all out!
everyone that is coming is out we all look forward to seeing you guys so much" it turns out that there will be 6 people at the dinner all friends of ours from a congregation that we attended a few years back.. they have all left the organization recently.. pretty crazy experience..

Pixar the production company is jealous of Caleb and Sophia video's
by life is to short inso said the co last night.. apparently a jw was on a flight and just happend to sit next to some big wig from pixar and when the man from pixar heard that he was a jw the pixar man just gushed over what great work that the watchtower has done in producing the caleb video's.
he siad he only wished pixar could do such great work.
the co said we are able to do it because we have free labor and jehovah behind us.. my husband stayed home from the meeting but wanted to tie in by phone and that is what the co said in his talk.. the co also talked about all the changes that have happened in the last ten years and how if some of the friends did not like it they needed and to quote him "they just needed to get over it" these changes are going to happned period.

After I signed up here, almost 2 years ago, you posted something about earlier civilizations, that came before the Bible, Adam and Eve story.
I emailed you and sincerely asked is that true? You didn't respond, so I figured that meant look it up on my own time, and I did. I was shocked.
